As an undergrad at UNC, there were many days of seeking solace and encouragement in music, as I struggled to make deadlines and absorb the intellectual demands made upon me as a student of psychology and music. Fogelberg always had a way to soothe my ever-reaching-higher soul. Now, as a graduate student, I find that his music, all these years later, still has the ability to calm my academic anxieties and bring me back to a grounded, and still place. I treasure his music, born of a true poet’s heart.
